Stephen has broad experience of both defending and prosecuting general crime and in recent years has gained particular experience in areas of disclosure and sensitive material. He is regularly instructed in confiscation and cash forfeiture proceedings by both prosecution and defence. In the past year his practice has extended to regular appearances at Independent Adjudications and before Parole Boards.

Stephen has recently delivered a series of training courses to officers of the Serious and Organised Crime Agency in respect of sensitive intelligence gathering techniques.

He is on the list of retained counsel for the British Association for Shooting and Conservation and has also advised and appeared on behalf of jockeys and trainers at disciplinary hearings of the British Horseracing Authority.

Stephen is currently instructed in a wide range cases including those concerned with allegations of serious sexual assault, fraud and conspiracy to steal.

R v P (and others) Winchester Crown Court (2007) - junior counsel in SOCA investigation into conspiracy to import cannabis from Spain.

R v K (and others) Birmingham Crown Court (2007) - junior counsel in SOCA investigation into conspiracy to import cannabis from Spain.

R v A (and others) Winchester Crown Court (2006) - junior counsel in NCS investigation into conspiracies to import cocaine from Colombia. Nine-month trial.

R v D (and others) Winchester Crown Court (2006) - junior counsel in SOCA/NCS investigation into conspiracies to supply Class 'A' drugs.

R v B (and others) Harrow Crown Court (2003) - junior counsel in NCS investigations into 'people trafficking' from India to the UK.

HRA v N (and others) Two-week disciplinary hearing relating to allegations of betting irregularities and 'race fixing'.
